Why does she look angry in that scene at all? I always picture elves (from LotR) being above such basic emotions.

She looks angry in every episode because that's the personality the showrunners gave her: "This is Young Galadriel, Girlboss and Perpetual B-word Face". The one time we see her smiling is the slow-motion horse riding scene and that's even weirder looking.
