These are 7 different shows, not House of the Dragon. The Nine Voyages, Nymeria's story 10,000 Ships, a Yi-Ti show, and some other things.
God darned, who cares about the Yi-Ti chinkshit and the Rhoynar
Wish they'd make a Robert's Rebellion videogame too
"We believe we know four of these projects, Aegon the Conqueror and Ten Thousand Ships as possible live-action entries and The Golden Empire and Sea Snake as possible animated ones, but whether that's still the plan is unclear. Martin previously seemed to say two of four animated shows were scrapped, but that may have now changed.
!bookworms !kino aren't you excited about this Marvelification?
SHOWS ABOUT THE VELARYONS AND NYMERIA OF THE THOUSAND SHIPS AND THE YI-TI
Yi-Ti show? About fricking who LOL
A fantasy pseudo-Asia, most likely. Why not, shoot it in Japan or Korea with locals, could be great, totally blank canvas.
Lmao, I hope it gets greenlighted because is gonna attract seethe and flop hard.
ASOIAF is the new Marvel franchise. Literal slop
I hope they have a scene where an Unsullied flies and some guy yells out "they fly now?" and Aeriana Targaryen says "they fly now!"
Not even redditors can't stand it lmao
the "Aeriana Targaryen" was unironically mentioned in HOTD btw

Capeshit only began to bleed money hard last year, before that they had the "PANDEMIC" excuse and now they're just disoriented after Captain Marvel bombed.

Actually losing money, or Hollywood accounting where every movie loses money for tax purposes?

This time it looks like really losing money. Costs of making the movie plus marketing are not being made back by box office. Disney got hit hard by this too. A lot of covering it up by "but if we add in worldwide grosses then we made it back" but those didn't come true. This is why Disney keeps making more Star Wars even though each new movie and show is worse than the last, and why the Marvel stuff is still being made: the studios are desperate for one guaranteed big hit.

MCU
That stands for Martin Cinematic Universe
Phase 3 ends with all the timelines collapsing into a big battle, and Phase 4 all the titular male characters have to surrender their spots to female equivalents that nobody likes to see.

"A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" will probably be good, or at least I'm hopeful. The rest is just A World of Ice and Fire stuff 95% of the general audience won't care for being so disconnected to Westeros and the most popular houses.

I honestly think Martin got bored of his story, but he had set himself up with this Giant Epic and promised more than he could produce. He can't really say "Sorry guys, I'm stopping" but he can't bring himself to finish the darn thing, so he writes all these new characters and different plots and side-books to keep himself occupied and keep the money flowing.
I think he'd love to do the same as Conan Doyle and kill off all the characters, but he's stuck: he set himself up as going to do a better job than Tolkien, going to produce this elaborate world-building but historically accurate and end it all, tying up all the plot threads. Now he's thirty years in to it, fed up of the main story, but he's tangled himself up too much to just be able to say "yeah, not gonna finish this one, I have no idea what happens next".
