I can't believe there hasn't been another paranormal monster of the week series since X-Files

X-Files
Fringe
Supernatural

That's all I can think of.

Why is no one making more of this format, it's cool

The idea is that serial shows are more engaging, do a better job of building a fandom, becoming a recognizable brand, and ultimately sell more toys and merch.

Sucks for those of us that just want something to throw on at night.

i was gonna say Fringe but i guess you covered it

idk most shows have gone away from the weekly, self contained episode format

there are obvious exceptions like police procedurals and sitcoms but any new show that would occupy the same space as X-Files or Fringe usually goes more in a fewer episodes, more meat, more integrated story direction

Evil is the closest to this. Would probably scratch that itch.

I absolutely refuse to watch this film on principal. All it does is glorify the "lone wolf white male" archetype. It gives incels and and nazis a hero figure for them to look up to. It is absolutely disgusting and is NOT the movie that we need right now. Who the frick thought this would be a good idea in our current political climate? The number one terrorist threat in the US right now is a white male.
