Just got off the phone with my dad.
We've talked extensively about Darklands since 1992. On two levels. First, him explaining to me how the game works and that you can do this yourself if you learn how to program computers. Second he always cultivated my interest in history and programming brought up by these games: Merchant Prince/Machiavelli the Prince, Perfect General, Civilization.
The one where I was worried that I might have gotten out ahead of my leash was the "what did your dad think about ARVNs" and I called him and confirmed that yes, I accurately presented his views on the subject.
