Wishbone - Best and Most Me Children's TV show ever

https://youtube.com/watch?v=N2Ein2pmuhE&list=PLXUunJz_da3FB5YWRoDofUj707xs-Se8H

So the concept is that you've got a bunch of 11-year old kids having a problem in school in 1990s America. What's the best way to solve it? A Jack Russell Terrier having psychotic delusions about being characters from stories in the past.

This will make the children learn. Basically this most hilarious thing I ever read in my life but she's not worth pursuing for marriage. Worst disappointment in my life.

@Klenn_and_Back_Again This is how your dog operates on a daily basis, right?

(Seriouspost: This might sound weird but actually educating children about reading is an interest of mine (if you know me you'll get it) and this show hits it out of the fricking park. It's basically everything about me made into a tv show.).

I remember one episode the boy didn't want to learn math because he could just use a calculator and then he was like working at a yard sale and couldn't figure out the prices bc he didn't have a calculator and the moral at the end was "learn math because you won't always have a calculator in your pocket :marseyshapiro:" (I don't remember what the book part was)

It really was. If you know it and pay close attention to redactorposting you'll notice some inspiration. Not as much as Saki talking about people carmbombing each other 120 years ago, but some.

!Christians Any of you oldstrags play this? I was unaware until just now. @Rescarer0 almost has me ready to try gaming again with Darklands since it has so much late medieval Church aesthetics going on, apparently.

If you want to see something educational today we got Darklands Ep 8 scheduled. The part where any woman gives you a reason to not keep yourself safe... :#marseywait: They didn't think of that part when making the series. I'm going to have to keep making up noststalgiac Whisisbobe posts.

I like Wishbone but can you imagine being an actor on this. All those years perfecting your craft and you finally get your big TV break and your role is to talk to a little dog in a costume (who is the star of the show, not you).

I have fond memories of watching this on a 13 in black and white TV, in a fort made of corn chop bags and cardboard in the warehouse of my grandparents feed store.

Still watch it with my kids, it's a shame there's only like 26 episodes.

This is one of those shows that I wasn't really that into as a kid but still watched enough that it imprinted somewhere deep in my brain. All I can really remember about it now is an episode where Wishbone is in Journey to the Center of the Earth as well as one that was all dark and spooky and also had something to do with Chinese checkers I think.
