>based on Brianshit, so all the visions of glowing eyes in the dark is obviously references the machines coming back
>that guy from Vikings and Raised By Wolves is playing the same character again
>it's 10,000 years before Paul Atreides but everything looks like the Villeneuve movies except cheaper
>Bene Gesserit training looks like Jedi training from the prequels
>also Bene Gesserit more like Bene Diversity amirite
>luckiest 9-year-old eve- lol nevermind
>they still have cocaine in space I guess
>semuta is just vaping while listening to techno
>the word "acolyte" is spoken a couple of times and the composer missed the opportunity to sneak in some of the wailing foid noises from the movies as a tribute to the power of manyyyy
This doesn't feel like Dune, it feels like generic SyFy slop, "Game of Thrones was popular let's do a Game of Thrones", Bridgerton in space, CW drama with occasional spaceships. Meh.

I am still mystified at why people think it is good. I've read the first few books and I kept waiting for something to pull me in but it just doesn't. The world building is okay, the characters suck, the way they all talk is straggy, and Herbert does a ton of exposition dumping. Worms are cool though and Villeneuve did the best he could with the source material (Blade Runner/Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep are way better).

The first 2 books are basically one book, I thought I was missing something with the second book being so short.

You're like people that only read The Hobbit and then say the rest of the series is trash.

I kept hearing how Dune is smart and dense and I guess it is slightly smart but it's really not that dense or hard to follow at all. Nor is it THAT smart. You just get a lot of the characters inner thoughts while they puzzle out what their opponent might be thinking but what their opponent is thinking/their motivations are usually really obvious anyway.
