Been watching Breaking Bad for the first time and I've enjoyed it for the most part. I'm up to the last two episodes of Season 3, Half-Measures and Full-Measures. The fact that this is considered peak TV drama, though, further reinforces my distaste for the medium because this show is still full of dumb shit, which I'll be sure to post about here when I'm done with it.

Peak kino is David Copperfield by Charles Peepeeens. Peak kino is Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoyevsky. Peak kino is the short story The Last Leaf by O. Henry. Saying Breaking Bad is "peak kino" just proves how low television has made your standards.

R-slur only visual mediums and arguably only TV/film can be called kino.
And yeah if you want to have a different discussion about which mediums allow for cooler/more artistic outcomes ofc books win. Different weight class for an obvious reason - the imagination of a human mind is limitless, while TV/movies/vidya are all bound by numerous physical/economic/time factors that limit creativity. The best book will always and forever be better than the best audiovisual anything.
Doesn't mean Breaking Bad isn't great, it's the definition of kino. It's just apples and oranges
