Entire apartment building evicted as fixed-term leases erode stock of affordable units : canada | Leaflibs learn that "fixed term" means "fixed term" and not "you can stay here rent free"

Is it possible to apply an increase in property taxes matching the increase in rental hikes? Raise the rent on the unit by 25% and your property taxes will go up 25%?

R-slurred. Landlords are raising rates because the banks raised the rates.

BC and Ontario get all the spotlight of the housing crisis but NS is probably the worse place right now. Rooms in Glace bay NS are going for $700-800, fricking glace bay....

NS voted to implement mass immigration. Crazy how supply and demand is real when it comes to housing lol

Did you read the article? Immigration isn't the issue in this situation it's legislation that dramatically favours landlords. Provincial governments are capable to protecting tenants from the impact of "supply and demand", they choose not to.

:marseynerdtalking#:

um askually it's not inflation, interest rates or all the demiBIPOCs it's because the mean old government lets people enter into fixed term leases.

Like, yeah landlords here are screwing people here hard. They're charging shit like $2k pet deposits and $70/room cleaning fees.

BUT if they refinanced/renewed recently, they're paying more. Taxes are up. Utilities are up. Contractor's rates are up so of course they're raising rents

Don't you understand that it's immoral for landlords not to get paid less and to act as a charity for plebeian Redditors?

It's long been my suspicion that the reason hate for landlords has sky-rocketed in the last few years is that, yes, younger generations are discovering how hard it will be for them to own a house. But more importantly they look at where their money goes, see 'rent' is the biggest number, then rather than think why they may be they just start hating the guy who gets that money.

I don't think you understand this community. You're going to get fricked over, real hard. Stalked, Doxxed, Harassed, you name it. I guess that's what you wanted though, because you never had attention from your parents so you look for it online. Besides, her bussy was taken down twice already before, and it always comes back.
