MAID (and assisted suicide in general) was sold to the general public as something that would only be reserved for the worst cases of painful terminal illness but in practice it's turned out to be much easier then that to get your assisted suicide approved.
What bothers me is how many people just let this casually slide or, in the case of that Reddit thread, actively cheer the use of MAID by someone for whatever reason they want.
It's a classic “that's not going to happen, okay it is happening and it's a good thing” situation.
