From Goethe to Kafka, there have been many renowned German Language authors. From the 1800s onwards german literature flourished, acquiring worldwide notoriety.

I haven’t read german authors so I’ll just follow the recommendations and :marseypopcorn:.

Kafka was from Prague, no? Doesn't that make him Bohemian?

Yes, he wrote in german nevertheless, so he can be considered part of the literary history of the German Language. Also, Sudeten germans never saw themselves as Czechs (I’m aware Kafka was jewish, just giving an example of eastern european germans complicated relationships with other ethnicities).
