The most embarrassing thing you've ever written

For the writers in here, what's the most embarrassing thing you've ever written?

I'll go first:

Back when I was a braindead teenager, I postponed my senior capstone for an entire semester. :marseycrayoneater:

I originally started designing a whole table top game. This would have included box art, a resource book with illustrations, tables, the whole 9 yards. :marseyreading:

But I was laughed at by 3 fat they/thems when I presented that idea.

So I wrote an awful novella about lesbians going to prom in the last 2 weeks of the project. I admittedly hamed it up for extra points by padding out the plot with needless identity politics. But I got a B+ and multiple classmates said it was the best thing they'd ever read because it spoke to them as :marseylgbtflag3:

I’m no writer, but back when I was in High School I used to write short stories, and all of them were cringy. I remember one of them was an Alice Through the Looking Glass inspired tale (maybe one could even call it fan-fiction with different character names lmao), my classmates liked it, but re-reading it years after it looked awful with terrible dialogue.

Can you give me a sample of dialog? I want to see where it sits on the sliding scale of fanfiction

It was in Portuguese, and I lost it thankfully.

I remember things like “A Rainha Vermelha era possessiva e vingativa”

“The Red Queen was possessive and vengeful”

I changed Alice name to Camilla. (Camila was a classmate of mine, a very pretty girl with blonde hair and deep blue eyes)

LOL, did you also change a character to your name :shmoopy:

No, I never did self inserts. I only based two characters from real life counterparts, Camila and the Red Queen whom I based from a bitchy and annoying classmate of ours.

Some of the characters in the lesbian piece was modeled after multiple classmates I despised.

Did they feel insulted or did they think it was an honor to them?

I don't think they noticed because I completely flanderised their characters

lmao clutch. I never felt the urge to do that for some reason, even though I could easily dislike people.
