R/books can’t understand how Orson scott card could qrite enders game when he’s such a meanie

I know a few people like this. They portray themselves on social media as super empathetic, caring for everyone. Frequently making posts about how obviously terrible thing that is happening to people somewhere is terrible and fight for noble causes (by tweeting about them). But the moment something bad happens to someone they don't like, even for the most minor of transgressions, their pure vitriol comes out. It's sometimes shocking how heartless they are capable of being when it's the "right" target.
