Finished the First Law trilogy and have started on the standalone novels now. Great series and the Glokta chapters were just awesome I was almost upset when they would end and switch to another pov.

I wasn't particularly happy with the way that trilogy ended tbh. I get there being more books and all but, not satisfying.

I didn't love it either but it didn't ruin the overall series for me and I liked it enough.

The Blade Itself is the first book, right?
Just could not get into it. After like ten chapters of random dudes day to day conversations in some fantasy world, and zero information about the world itself, I realized I don't give a shit about these characters and just stopped.
Does it change from that narrative flow?

So the first book it feels like nothing happens with the plot moving forward but I weirdly enjoyed it. The next two things start happening and there is world building and the history behind the world is given more life. The narrative flow changes but if you didn't like it to that point it is similar enough throughout I would try something else.
