!bookworms, you know what? We'll do both, Blood Meridian first then the next will be NLMG as we have a tie 10 minutes after closing and apparently a few badfaitherinos seeking to tie for the sake of tying.

I was thinking about the distribution for the weekly threads for Blood Meridian, considering some are enjoying the book and analyzing my kindle edition what about going around 75 pages per week instead of 50? That way we could cover Chapters I-V on the first thread, then Chapters VI-XI on the second thread?

You know that nobody considered shit and that the vote is totally meaningless because every vote you have done basically came down to a dead-even split between each choice. You could have just picked at random lol. You should have done ranked choice from the start.

Quelle surprise this site picked the grimdark scrotey western thing with pretensions of literary greatness. Y'all might as well stop pretending and just read Infinite Jest again.
If you want to read an actual good book, I highly recommend Ferrante's My Brilliant Friend.

Why
Jump in the discussion.

Because it's a beautifully written, incisive portrait of the intensely competitive friendship between two young girls, and very evocative of a particular time and place.

David Foster Wallace is the James Joyce of his generation.
Appreciation for either is a purely masturbatory exercise for pseudo-intellectual cute twinks with nothing better to do than jerk themselves off to the fact that they read 25,000 pages of something.

This is pretty ignorant. James Joyce was Picasso. He was a master of English prose style, and exploded it.
DFW is just some fartsniffer who wrote WAYYY too many words in a book. DFW is DFW is DFW is DFW. The man's a bad writer.

Jump in the discussion.

We'll do Blood Meridian first as some want to read both. But the 50 pages thing was decided after Master and Margarita as that's the reading pace for the average dramacel

Man you guys are speeding through books. I'm still reading(listening to) Les Mis. Granted I did take a break during vacation. Help I'm learning how to pronounce French correctly against my will. I also got half way through I Am A Cat during vacation and I need to finish that and order the second part of Journey to The West. Fingers are in too many literary pots. I keep meaning to read Blood Meridian but I think I want to reread Brothers Karamozov and Moby Peepee first.
