These books all have the same basic characters every single time

  • slightly exotic (accent/dark/etc) alpha male

  • big boss gets checked by bumbling young female and breaks his usual detached attitude towards women because he cant resist her

  • girl is an intern / innocent low level workerbee just out of college

  • focuses more on dirty talking "banter" than s*x / plot

Every male should read one if they want a peak into the female mind

My wife is on booktok and so many of these women have been bragging about "reading" (usually audiobooks) 50+ books in 2023, and they are all really subtle variations on the same theme. Meanwhile, my mother-in-law is reading some weird Harlequin Romance-type books, with the recent kick all involving some beachside cottage. She read two separate series where the books even had practically the same names just in different orders.

Anyway, what I'm trying to say is women will read the same book over-and-over. That said, nerds will read Warhammer or Star Wars books, so they aren't any better.
