!bookworms redpill me on Thomas Pynchon, he's been mentioned in several comments on this thread. I have Mason & Dixon downloaded on my Kindle but I haven't read it yet.
pynchon has an incredibly long winded and forgettable writing style
i've heard good things about mason & dixon, but after reading a good portion of gravity's rainbow and the crying of lot 49 i've become redpilled on him
What is your level of education? This reads like a take from someone that failed out of community college. Some art is inaccessible to the masses and that's okay. Stick to Harry Potter.
Love him. Probably the most knowledgeable author in existence. You'll be reading and constantly find obscure references to the arts/science/history that makes you gigle, and then you'll eventually learn that for every reference you spotted there were another dozen that flew over your head. He's just fun and maximalist.

Ursula Le Guin, not bad just horribly overrated by redditors.
Thomas Pynchon same as above but by /lit/.
James Joyce is and always was a hack.
Whoever wrote House of Leaves was also a hack because it was boring as frick.

He also skirts the two cultures divide. Studied either eng or physics, but took a course taught by Nabakov and switched majors.
