I'm not going to play the games (not THAT much of a manchild) or read the books(I know they're slop), so I thought reading their lore would be a good way to pass the time but even that didn't seem all that well thought out. It's like they came up with a lot of cool concepts/premises but didn't bother to flesh it out beyond that .
This isn't the "neurodivergent world building" that nerds promised me . Worst part was how underdeveloped the "God Emperor" himself was.

How underdeveloped nature of the god emperor is a key feature of the universe. No one knows if he was doing something good, evil, or stupid and it makes the universe more fun and interesting.

It's a fine balance to maintain but there isn't enough to create intrigue imo. Like GOT's Valyria isn't fully explained but author gives us enough to spark your imagination.

Yeah there's way more to the god emperor than there is to valyria. Though valyria probably has the benefit of martin having some sort of idea about the truth of valyria where information about the god emperor is often vague because providing a definite answer would ruin almost all of the other lore.
That a the first of what i think is a three part series on god emperor lore of that is interesting to you. Though id recommend knowing at least a bit about the universe in general before getting into that.
