What books are you currently reading (copied from another website I post on)

So I bought a couple of books for my birthday, which is upcoming and I'm wondering if anyone is currently reading anything of interest? I am currently reading "The Bohemian Grove fact and fiction" by Mark Dice Books I'll read after this (5 titles): "Blackshirts and reds" by Michael Parenti (second book I bought for my b-day) "Women's car DIY" by Caroline Lake "When the Irish Invaded Canada" by Christopher Klein "A Cruel and Shocking Act the secret history of the Kennedy Assassination" by Phillip Shenon "Auto repair for dummies" by Deanna Sclar

I'm almost finished with "Blackshirts and reds", and I have finished "The Bohemian Grove fact and fiction" a few weeks back. I think those were good birthday gifts I bought for myself.

The Discworld series. Not very high brow, but it's my wife's favorite and I'm finally getting around to it. I'm on the seventh book (Pyramids) out of 42 so far this year. Great read if you're looking for something fun. Pratchett can really turn a phrase.

Reading my fanfic I just wrote:

Kermit was feeling down today. The swamp was muggy and the air was heavy, it made the acoustics of his banjo sound flat and uninspired. That's exactly how he felt...uninspired. He knew that he wasn't going to find any solace being on his own today and he knew that going to his friends wasn't going to grant him any reprieve form the doldrums of his day. "But maybe," he thought to himself, plucking a sour note on his banjo, "...maybe the Clown Prince of Crime could help."

So Kermit slung his banjo over his back and began to pad through the swamp, looking forward to a release form his now-eternal seeming ennui. He looked forward to the creases in the white face paint, the eternal smile and beguiling frame of the Joker.

The days they had spent together on the river were a balm to Kermit as he travelled through the miasma of the swamp. Kermit remembered the first time he had caught a fly on his tongue in front of Joker and how the Clown's laugh seemed so genuine, so free of the pain that always seemed to haunt the upswept scars. Kermit remembered how he wished he could have removed those scars and how the two of them could be forever in this world, away from those who would do them harm. Kermit's feet flapped a little faster. The hole in his back seemed emptier than ever and the absence seemed to propel him forward through the thick swamp air.

He remembered when a terrible bully had come trotting into his life and Joker had dressed for battle and taken up a mighty sword to defend him. How the Joker looked in the morning light as he went to celebrate the Day of Resurrection and Retribution. The Clown was a Prince of God that day.

You sat down and wrote all this shit. You could have done so many other things with your life. What happened to your life that made you decide writing novels of bullshit here was the best option?

Ordered House of Leaves a fricking couple months ago. Still sitting around unread.

Is fricking there an age range, b-word? Something tells me there is.

But right now I'm thumbing through Michael Crighton's 'Timeline' - usually when I take my deceased neighbor to the fricking methadone clinic.
