tbh cancer vaccines probably aren't going to be a thing for at least another 10 years at the earliest. probably also going to be limited to cancers associated with other diseases like HPV. it's still cool to push money into this market though, but tech people suck at biology.

i think they were not onlg doing gain of function research in that lab in wuhan butt also trying to create "self-spreading vaccines". The concept of personalized medicine has been a huge thing for years and while there's been a lot of advances in some areas it's not the magic bullet or revolution that's been promised. The biggest issue with a vaccine against cancer is that cancers are still pretty close to either their cells of origin or other cells in the human body. There needs to be a big enough gap between the normal and the cancer to allow for selectivity so that you can hopefully minimize damage to normal cells. Trying to capitalize on small gaps might be a bad strategy in the long run because there's usually a bit of wiggle room that allows for imperfect matches and that noise might also increase in certain situations such as with age, additional infection, etc.
