I looked up https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/copium again today and noticed it has been changed.
Blend of cope (“delusion, coping mechanism”) + opium and/or helium. First cited usage points back to the album entitled Copium released by American rapper Keak da Sneak in 2003. The term was popularized in 2020 by a reaction image of Pepe the Frog hooked up to a gas cylinder labeled "copium".[1] Sometimes reanalyzed as cope + -ium.
Curious of the addition of helium, I looked up edit history and noticed this:
"Mitch raises toads" has, on January 4th, a few hours after I made this thread: https://rdrama.net/h/meta/post/234623/copium-what-is-it taken it upon himself to fix this injustice and fight with wikijannies over it. The last edit of the article before I made that thread was in November, and I have not posted about this anywhere else besides here, so either "Mitch raises toads" is one of you people, or a friend of one of you people who talked about it further elsewhere. Either way, "Mitch raises toads", whoever you are, I offer you my thanks for standing up for truth and justice in this dark and cruel world.
