How is he supposed to know the dog is dead and blind? I hate journ*lists so much.

That is just descriptive prose, r-slur. It has nothing to do with the shoot. When you see "Brooklyn man dies after losing control in high-speed chase," do you ask "How were the cops supposed to know he was from Brooklyn?

Anyway, watch the video. The dog was just walking around minding its business and is small enough to be punted across a street. The pig shot it for fun like a psychopath.

No. Being blind and deaf impacts the demeanor of the dog. Dogs with failing senses are more prone to hostility because they are more uncertain of whats going on around them. An equivalent would be "Man in diabetic shock dies after police PIT his car." The police don't know the man is having a medical emergency but they know the person is driving erratically and is a danger to others.

How was the dog supposed to know the guy was American and was likely to start shooting the second he had to make a decision?
