It's been so long the details are fuzzy, but I seem to remember him deliberately breaking rules after the badmins put us in the naughty corner. I know we were already under warning with pinging, he might have been the one who got the badmins to remove it from the sub entirely.
Can anyone remember what was the final straw? Was it maniacal pinging, or maybe cross-posting between us and SRD and stirring the pot?
I know it was before we went emoji-only, but after the constant approvedcel/unapprovedcel rise of deux/zwei/etc. Or maybe it was a brief hiatus from emoji-posting, we did flip-flop with that a lot.
I can just barely remember some big post that he made/pinned on Drama, SRD talking about it, and then going "oh shit, lawlz finally got axed!"
I went back and found that SRD post but no mention of his ban reason. I have a feeling it was over something inane in typical reddit fashion. I thought he did try to bring the sub back and turned off emoji posting for a time, but this place was already well established and the sub was completely dead by that time. Could have been related to that. I think a bunch of people got purged after it. Maybe one of the old mods remember.
He did shenanigans with posting and linking to /r/MensLib, and commenting in the linked thread , which caused /r/Drama to have our ability to even mention any other sub removed. No direct links, no /r/sub mentions, nothing.
He may have actually caused the slow burn which created the downfall of all the nooticer subs on Reddit. I'm pretty sure WatchRedditDie, DeclineIntoCensorship, YallCantBehave, etc etc, all started getting punished exactly the same way very soon afterwards too, and much more quickly.

I thought Lawlz was wholesome chungus, what did they ban him for?

Did he get temp-suspended, and then released, and then perma-ed?
I found an SRD sticky too, and that's not what little bit my brain can remember as the final hurrah. Maybe I'm mixing up bans though.
EDIT: found what I was remembering! DosRama had an archive with info: https://archive.ph/FDi8n
