Basically the pipelines were Russia's only leverage on EU since EU needs that gas to get through this winter in 1 piece, Russia as punishment for sanctions shutdown the pipeline until those were lifted, as the winter aproached social unrest and pressure would increase in Europe making them more likely to drop the sanctions and get the gas flow back. Actually the day before the pipelines were destroyed there was a big protest in Germany asking for the sanctions to be lifted.
United States have no need for Russian gas so they want to keep the sanctions and since europe was starting to show remote signs of wavering they decided to blow up the pipelines and permanently shut down the flow of gas and condemning EU to a harsh winter.
Now that EU can't get that gas anyways they have no reasons to drop the sanctions on Russia.
There are ways to transport gas besides via pipelines, and germany was showing signs of wavering, but hadn't definitively decided yet. Russia wants to force their hand by showing them what a bad ally the US is: "see, look how they destroy your lifeline in your time of need. You can't rely on them! Make sure you keep your alliances open..."

yes they can transport gas via LNG and buy gas from the US, even more reason for them to do it, and even if it came out that the US did it its not like the EU would turn against the US. We are dependent on US economy more than russia even

Whole truth, total moral goodness, but don't forget the power to act on them.

This, there are still a bunch of pipelines who can easily support europe from russia. Nordstream is only for getting around pesky poles/Ukrainians. And you already see the tards accuse each others, well played russia

yeah but they are not even going all out, half-assing everything.
Meanwhile burgers get a little hint that germany is willing to re-open the pipelines and instantly blows them up condemning their allies to freeze in winter. Like a father slapping an unruly kid and putting them on timeout, pretty based.

Everyone who is denying this is unironically a CIA asset
I just got banned from /r/news and /r/worldnews incase anyone was wondering who owns them
Obviously CNN has been an asset since it's inception
Good time to take notes
