I learned a bit of fr*nch (under torture) and let me tell you, Quebec language purists are the oddest bunch in terms of language-elitism.
They love to flex on european fr*nch because their road signals say "arrêt" instead of "stop" like in every 1st and 2nd world country, yet will confidently shove an english phrase every 3 words in their day-to-day speech.
And i dont mean an english loanword that doesnt have a fr*nch equivalent, i mean a full-butt english phrase that could very well be said in regular french. Like if i went to you and went "oi, can you passe me la fricking fourchette?"
Its like watching a philipino nazi dunk on an ethnic german that he's betraying the aryan race when dating a greek girl.
