He's a man with a lot of money in Romania, if the rumors of higher ups in the gov making an example of him to please the EU aren't true, he's 100% getting out-if not immediately than waaaaaay sooner than most expect, it's just how things are in a lot of the world, in many cases judges will straight up tell you how much it costs to bribe them if they know you have money

Just cause it's blatantly happening and known doesn't mean the Romanian government is terribly keen on him highlighting the corruption as travel incentive. Plausible denialibility seems to be preferred. I think they'll frick him to not only please others but also to remind the locals to not get too big for their britches.

Exactly that's what I'm saying- unless the government specifically decides to do the right thing, he's not staying in there

I think the Romanian government will prosecute, not because it's the right thing or to appease the EU. But because Tate is making them look bad and jeopardizing the gravy train of real corruption. Tate might be wealthy, but he's bribe local cops and city government rich not influence their national government rich.
