As a kid I played with some asbestos plates (they broke in a very satisfying way) with my friends, and the worst thing that happened to me was ending up here. Let kids have their fun (with dangerous construction materials).

Tbf :marseysoylentgrin: that just looks like a harmless pile of inert clay or rock powder. I still wouldn't have made my kid jump in it though because I would not look forward to cleaning them and the car later.

The workers wear masks and gloves when working with it because it causes mild symptoms and can lead to problems over years of continuous exposure.

This kid must have snorted quite of few lines of it to die in minutes. Even eating a few handfuls won't kill you so quickly, it will just require a surgery to cut it out if your guts.

Unless it wasn't limestone or I misunderstand something about it.

Pretty sure the article confused lime (calcium hydroxide) with limestone (calcium carbonate). Limestone is fairly inert but lime is extremely corrosive and will straight frick your shit up.

limestone dust inhalation is a long term occupational danger

nothing on the SDS has acute dangers, i'm pretty sure this boy was murdered and this is a cover up.

>Effects Resulting from Inhalation:

>Limestone may contain trace amounts of free crystalline silica. Prolonged exposure to respirable free silica can aggravate other lung

>conditions and cause silicosis, a disabling and potentially fatal lung disease.

>Exposure to limestone dust may cause irritation to the moist mucous membranes of the nose, throat, and upper respiratory system. It may

>also leave unpleasant deposits in the nose.
