To be fair, the way it was set up sounds like Sam put (or left her) in charge of Alameda Research even though she wasn't really qualified, all so that she'd just sign off on him saying "transfer over funds, okay? trust me, it's all legit".
So no wonder she had the brains to co-operate with the Feds when it all crashed down, unlike Genius Sam who thought he could fast talk his way out of trouble. The funny (or sad) part is that everyone seems to have rolled over on him, including Gary Wang and Nishad Singh, so he's the one left holding the bag.
