I think biden has actually handled this situation well but the reality is that its a lose-lose situation for him. Most sane Americans, especially anyone who was more than a small child during 9/11 are going to be heavily siding with Israel. If Biden came out with 'both sides', he is going to lose center left, center and basically all jews. By coming our strongly behind Israel, he is going to lose the far left who already dont want to vote for him. Its a smaller loss and the best way to minimize the damage, but i dont really see how he benefits in the aggregate no matter what.

For me it's not really about Biden specifically but all American presidents since Bush I or Reagan just being completely cowardly.
Look at Eisenhower. He would tell the Israelis to do something and he didn't beg or negotiate or trade. He just said you have to do this and in exchange I won't destroy your economy tomorrow.
