Cancellation of the CF-105 Arrow fighter program in 1959. There's a conspiracy theory that the evil Americans somehow forced them too in order too ruin the Canadian aerospace industry. Sane people point out that maybe it was cancelled because you don't need an interceptor that goes mach 2 if the Soviets don't even have a bomber that can go mach 1.
(Actually don't do that since a million other neurodivergents have sent in FOIA requests for it already. But maybe look up something related too NORAD in the 1950-1960s or the Diefenbunkers. There's gotta be some interesting stuff and it should be declassified by now.)
