JAYAPAL: And I think that r*pe is horrific. Sexual assault is horrific. I think that it happens in war situations. Terrorist organizations like Hamas obviously are using these as cowtools. However, I think we have to be balanced about bringing in the outrages against Palestinians. Fifteen thousand Palestinians have been killed in Israeli airstrikes, three-quarters of whom are women and children.

Honestly it's a dumb clickbait headline, she goes on to question if this is a good strategy to combat terrorism in the long term. I haven't followed her past statements but she didn't go out of her way to defend Hamas in this instance. :marseyshrug:

People are chimping out at her not for defending Hamas, but for trying to be le radical centrist and equate r*pe as a weapon, with bombing 'schools' the sand people are using as rocket bases and such.
