They didn't just "try" and spend it.....they did spend it. You do understand that just handing thousands of dollars to everyone causes prices to go up when they go out and spend it right? Or does that simple concept not really soak in for you

People being forced to stay home absolutely plummeted manufacturing supply. There are a lot of manufacturing plants that are simply designed to run 24/7... if not, the machinery gets damaged. (Ask anyone that works in the chemical plants in Texas.)
