Do you enjoy Animal Collective pre- *Feels* (2005)? 
I hadn't gone through the discog in a long time and honestly not sure I like anything besides Sung Tongs (sorta) and Spirit They've Gone... (very good) in that era.

I'm firmly more a fan of the post-feels era, bit STGTV is one of the best things they've ever done. Sung Tongs is also great, but I can't speak much for their other albums during that time. I'm kinda a poser wrt their work in general doe

Sung Tongs is the only album I've listened to and I loved it but I'm hesitant to check out their others because the vibe is so weird and specific

I'd listen to Danse Manetee which is regarded as their worst and see what you think - dive right into to the cacophony.
If you like Sung Tongs you'd probably like Campfire Songs.
Spirit They've Gone is legitimately amazing though, if there's anything you listen to try that one.
