The title of the video is a LIE, this is not the original audio. However, this is audio from another similar performance that was dubbed on top of the classic skit. still pretty good.

"omg but heymoon sam hyde is a chud" shut the frick up, john maus is a valid trump-supporting postmodern far-leftist professor of philosophy, you B-WORD (all of this is true, btw, look it up)

Everyone says this but I don’t see how bc maus’s mouth movements don’t even line up with hey moon since the Ruse edited it for cop killer specifically

Idk I like the juxtaposition of him screaming with the more relaxing song

Imma be real with you chief. This version sucks butt and I prefer the original Hey Moon or even the one that has the non-screamer Cop Killer cut in. I'll let you off because Hey Moon, Cop Killer and the original sketch are all absolutely incredible pieces of art though. Always wondered if your name was a reference to this skit too

that's fair. I mostly posted this because I've been wanting to see the original performance, it's kind of a white whale. Also, the studio version of Cop Killer kinda slaps

The album version Cop Killer is a 9/10 easily, it's amazing. The album itself is a little all over the place, it has Hey Moon which is probably my favourite song of all time, Cop Killer which is likewise incredible, then maybe Quantum Leap which is pretty good and then every other song on it is really mediocre and I don't even bother keeping it on my phone (I'm one of the boomers that still gets individual albums and puts the mp3 files on his phone).

Have you heard the Molly Nilsson original version of Hey Moon? I prefer John Maus' version but it's still very nice

It was always intended to have the studio version of cop killer dubbed over the skit. Maus was miming along to it like most music videos and there was no live mic

for context, the skit originally had "cop killer" as it's closing song (which made more sense thematically) , but Adult Swim got chickenshit and was scared of what the poor little coperinos would think so they dubbed over with the song "Hey Moon", which made zero thematic sense, and they also "lost" the original audio of him doing the performance, which was live. Maus went absolutely apeshit while filming this skit, which makes sense because the skit almost perfectly encapsulates the essence of the ideas that drives Maus's music and philosophy. (Again, he is unironically a professor of philosophy)

He later said he was shocked to learn that Sam Hyde was a -- well, whatever Sam Hyde is.

Like half of the comments I've seen on this sub are so obviously written by non-athletes that it's almost humorous. When I was in high school (3 year starter for our varsity football team) I would get a full-on sprint going and clock the shit outta whoever had the ball. My coaches called me "speedhawk" as a nickname cause I had such a nose for the football and those three seasons I was considered the most feared safety in our conference. Senior year I led me team to the state semifinals only to get fricked over by the refs in the 4th but that's another conversation (DM me if you're interested in hearing about it) So, yeah. I hope yall can understand why I feel like their's such a big disconnect between myself and your typical redditor. Please tell me I'm not the only one who feels this way lol
