It's a fine scene, but it's pretty obvious why it was deleted. How do you match the tone of the end of the movie where Data dies and the Enterprise is nearly destroyed with these light-hearted jokes? Nemesis is pretty shit overall, but I got why they ended with the toast and then Picard walking down the corridor determinedly.
