I actually know this is a lie because my in-laws have been waiters and told me before 2020 a 20% tip was incredibly rare… but it’s hard to find an honest waiter nowadays

All of these servers saying "yeah well if you don't tip im not giving you good service" and I'm just sitting here trying to remember if ive ever gotten "good service" in the US. It's always "Hiiii ok what do you want, okayyyy" then they come back and give me my food, they come back and ask if I'm doing well then give me the check and auto gratuity charge me 20%.
