:we had a situation like this at a job i used to have, we ran a production line and we had this one lardass of a maintenance guy on first shift who was completely incompetent and did nothing. he was 400 pounds, sat around on his phone eating KFC and drinking bang energy, and ignoring the supervisors in the work group chat. when the line went down we would do nothing until the supervisors could get ahold of one of the second shift maintenance guys to figure out how to fix it. it took them over a year to fire the guy because they “didn’t want to because he had so much experience.” he probably cost the company millions of dollars in production by being a lazy cute twink and probably still got a ton of severance when he left because the company was so cucked. i never felt so freed as the day i left that place.

I have an uncle exactly like this. Ivy League MD. Fired from every job. Lazy. Wife left with the kids. Living with his parents and bullying the. Except he hasnt worked in 15 years.

if his MD came from an Ivy League he'll be towards to front of every pile of applications regardless of the job.

This weirdly echos some drama from an Indian family of doctors I know. But even the catty, dramatic doctors seem to have their actual careers straightened out even if their family life is a complete and utter dumpster fire.

In terms of an arc, this captures his fall from actual hospital surgeon to Lowes fairly faithfully, but it doesn't day much about pre-medical director days except that he was a "terrible surgeon". Okay, so is uncle his fifties and therefore was being a "terrible surgeon" for at least a decade or two? In what what ways was he a terrible surgeon and how long did he last? I must know more - specifically in between his getting into and graduating from a Ivy league, and at least being able to complete an internship and residency as a surgeon. Like, I don't know that you can fail upward that hard as an MD - the process naturally filters out most complete r-slurs, so this guy's sudden swing into being a total failure needs context.
