It's like 150 for a weekend pass.

500 for an all winter pass. It's not that expensive if you plan. https://t.co/1N1n3WVECz

See that shit at the flea market I frequent. There's a booth that just sells soap and laundry detergent. Like Irish spring and Tide. It's not cheaper than Walmart. I saw this family with 5 dirty screaming kids there the other day buying it and a bag of expired doughnuts. I did buy a Lane cedar chest there for $30 that I can flip for a couple hundred so that made it worth it.

used to have coffee grounds and bar soap cheaper than normal grocery stores, but that was like 10 years ago, and only cheaper by a little bit. Not worth having to go inside a dollar general

For me it's a stone throw from my restaurant so instead of fighting the people of walmart at self checkeout i rather hit the DG for a quick restock lol

Maybe spices? I used to get shit like thyme from a discount store like that because the normal size containers were like less than half the cost than at the grocery store.

I used to live in a town with a doller tree and a Safeway in the same parking lot and people would still go to the dollar tree for some reason. Some people are just destined to be poor.

My Sunday school went as a group once and it was like $30 I think because we had a bus for like 30 kids all go up together, youth rate, group discount, just for the day.
Some kids didn't have gear and families donated their extras for the trip. Super fetch

Which is just insane btw. At costco you can get 22lbs of chicken breast + thighs for around $90 and a 25lb bag of rice for about $22. You can have a full pound of chicken and rice for 3/4 weeks in the month for practically nothing. You can go even cheaper if you just get ground pork and beef and make mexican food often since a lb of fresh ground pork goes for $2.99 at @bartendercel's grocery store.

That's actually not particularly cheap for the chicken. The supermarket I go to, which is generally not cheap, has thighs for $1.70/lb.

Meh, quality's good at least. Still, just goes too show that its essentially even cheaper than $100 too eat well every night for 3 weeks out of each month.

WTF is the average family gonna do with 25lbs of fresh chicken? Not everyone is a NEET with the time and inclination to maintain a complex freezing, defrosting, preparation, suction bag, sous vide routine. Whenever I see someone buying raw meat in bulk it's because they're an incel

You've got an hour on sunday to bread and freeze a good part if you want to fry it, other days its as simple as move a bag from the freezer to the fridge to defrost then season and cook on a pan the next day, theres nothing complex about this, especially as the costco chicken literally comes prebagged ready to freeze. Chicken is pretty good as is with salt, pepper and pan fried over a bit of butter and that takes no more than 10 mins. My go to is literally a 20 min meal (including prep) where I just slice chicken, dice an onion and toss it in a wok with a blend of chili paste, coconut milk and spices.
Pasta with homemade sauce in industrial quantities is as easy as 20 mins as well and thats mostly to let it simmer and develop it cab be ready in as short as 5 if you're really in a rush. Theres no reason to never cook unless you're peak pleb or so neurodivergent you cannot get into the concept of a quick meal.
