Suitless plebeians of Reddit up in arms

https://old.reddit.com/r/AmItheAsshole/comments/1728hq2/aita_for_kicking_a_friend_out_of_group_activities

In this thread, OP asks if he is the butthole for excluding a friend, who constantly underdresses and does not own/refuses to purchase a suit, from his weekly dinner gatherings. The issue is that OP and his friends are unable to enter their preferred restaurants when said friend is around, due to dress code entry requirements. OP is in Monaco so this is pretty much universal if you want to go anywhere half decent.

The thread may be a troll post but that's irrelevant because our subject today is the absolute seething in the comments. If you needed a reminder that Redditors are poor and stupid, here you go.

>YTA.

>Who tf hangs out with friends in business formals? Even if that's your thing, the occasion is clearly not a business formal one and your friend is not obligated to follow that dress code, every Saturday. 200 bucks is a lot of money irrespective of their income to spend on something they don't enjoy and if this really bothers you that much, you gift him a bunch of suits to wear and front the cash to get it tailored. Even after that they're very much within their rights to wear whatever they want. You're too old for this cliquey high-school bs

"$200 is a lot of money" lmao :marseylaugh:

>[...] Business formal on a Saturday night - sounds odd to say the least. Do you mean 'smart casual'?

Get a job you lazy hippie :marseywagie:

This one is particularly deranged:

>YTA. 200$ for a suit to go out & blow another 50$-100$? First of all, not everyone's doing that well today. 200$ isn't throw away cash. That's food & groceries for the next week or 2. Second of all, Why are you pooping on someone you consider a “friend” for their basic appearance? Just go somewhere casual. Not to mention the fact that this whole post reeks of narcissism.

If you can't afford a few hundred dollars for dinner, you should unironically keep yourself safe. More importantly the shitty $200 suit can be used for other occasions, like a fricking job interview, which this broke b-word needs stat.

>“I can't be seen with you because I'm more concerned with what total strangers might think of me over my own friends.”

>Like, dude. Get over yourself.

This guy's never heard of a dress code

Tl;dr :marseypoor::marseywagie::marseystinky::marseybeggar::marseyseethe::marseyrage::marseyfluffyannoyed:
