An amazon facility opened really near me, so now our area has really good shipping. Tons of people I know have started to buy everything from Amazon. I don't understand the disconnect people have between their actions of stopping buying local and then the decimation of their home town.

I'd bet money that the Amazon facility that moved in hires more employees, has better benefits, better wages and more opportunity for career advancement than all the retail stores that could have been forced out by it.

I rly hate to say it but amazon is a game changer here. There were so many products I could never buy until amazon showed up, and I don't mean consumer goods but stuff for work. Metric thermocouples and silicon o rings and various low voltage mechanical relays and shit
