fully half of everything I earn is taken in tax, and everything here is stupid expensive because we have stuff like a minimum wage that waitercels can live off, and such, but still i have more prosperity than the average redditor claims to have - I own a home in lovely little village without excessive cultural enrichment, I own a nice car, I vacation abroad every year, I have a summer home in the woods by the sea, and I have a boat to take out sailing when I can be bothered. I do dry my clothes outside in the summer, and cook for myself though, so I guess you got me there.

The average american spends your whole post-tax income on discretionary purchases. The average redditor is making twice maybe quadruple what you do, in a house that much larger than yours.
