Hello, welcome to 'I see the poors are pretending to be big wallet gangstas again'
This hole exists as a safe space for refugees from the Facebook(MetaTM groups of the same name. Of which there have been several iterations. We mostly exist to poke fun at the state of living in poverty. While it oftentimes is unavoidable, we do aspire to not be meanspirited. Over the years we have co-opted the term 'Peak Poor' to being someone who exudes poverty, regardless of their actual net worth. Trump and Elon both exhibit the peak poor ethos from time to time while still being the top 0.000001%. You can do something peak poor and still be a good person or a generally adjusted one. We all have a bit of poor in us.
We basically fill a niche similar to fatpeoplehate with a bit less actual malice.
PeakPoor is shotgunning mountain dews at 5 years old.
PeakPoor is not people dying of poverty. While technically the greatest heights of poverty is succumbing to it this is not funny, and is a failure
of capitalism. We do not make fun of poverty to be mean spirited such as that.
Read the room, if it's punching down too hard or really digging into someone whos a sympathetic character it doesn't belong here. (basically READ THE ROOM)

You rarely, if ever, see minimum wage offered. Even McDonald's jobs in $7/hr minimum wage states pay $15/hr.

But even then, like, $7.25 at 40 hours a week is enough to live on in much of the U.S. The minimum wage will afford you a minimal standard of living.

Back in the day fell for the "paid in prestige" grift working at a teaching hospital. I had to steal food because I couldn't afford groceries. My take home was less than this woman ($1660 pre tax!) shit was terrible.
Granted I rented a room instead of a 2 bedroom apartment because I'm not r-slurred.

Maybe the person in the second bedroom should pay rent. Even if we're being generous and 2k is net, that's like $17/hour.

Thing I don't understand with these dumb, supposedly adults, seem to have no forward thinking or planning.
You know you take home 2000$ a month.
You willingly pick a place to rent that costs 1660 a month.
So doing some elementary math you know your monthly left over money alone is 340.
Doesn't leave much for other bills and food, huh?
So probably a smart idea before you sink time into a rental and moving into it is finding a much more financially viable living arrangement like a cheaper place or get roommates.
But she won't.
Because living alone in a 2B apartment is comfortable for her and that's what she wants.
But she isn't making enough to achieve what she wants comfortably.
