At&t Wagies aren't allowed to hang up the call. :marseygunshotsuicide:

Apparently At&t saw fit to stop my autopay 2 months ago without telling me so my Internet got shut off.I paid the balance but had to call in to restart it. The agent was a :marseyrasta: :marseykween: and was actually pretty helpful as far as call center wagies go.

When she got it set back up I said thanks and thought she would hang up. I then set my phone down and fricked around for 10 minutes or so until I heard her yelling through the phone that I needed to hang up.

She definitely heard me talking to my dogs

I worked for an outdoor sports related company a long time ago, and they still had an in-house call center for handling customer service, like warranty claims and all that stuff. I guess they had a similar policy about not hanging up on people.

The guy who ran the customer service department was, quite possibly, the nicest guy I have ever met in my life. My department (IT) was in the building next door to the main building where all those guys were, and somebody came over to tell us we should come see what's happening in customer service. This guy took over for one of the poor kids working the phones because some belligerent old b-word was screaming about whatever and calling them names and shit until the kid started crying at her desk, so he stayed on the phone with this dumb old lady for more than an hour patiently trying to get her to calm down until he finally got her to stop. I'm not going to end the story with "and then everybody clapped" but like half the company was watching this guy handle this butthole customer by the end of it.
