Uppity debtmaxxing zoomer with specific carpet tastes isn't a fan of r/personalfinance

I closed on a house for $195k in January. I have $187k mortgage remaining today.

I'd like to take out $5k maybe $6k to install some carpet and a fence - what would be the best way to do it?

I'm 23 with a 725 credit score. No other debts besides mortgage.

3.5% down ✔

Lowes/Homedepot will do it if you go with their installers. We did if for a fence.

Thanks, I'm looking at a specific brand of carpet they don't carry though :(

Beggars can't be choosers.

Beggar? I've paid my way through life, surely not asking for a handout.

Thinks you can earn things :marseyfacepalm:

I could sell my house and break even. What's the risk? $10k is a sizeable amount for a medium disaster plus several kinds of home insurance. Many of you here are in a mindset that is so negative and deters people away from owning homes. Acting like it cannot be done.

Housing only goes up ✔

Get a 0% interest introductory credit card, there’s a bunch out there right now, you should qualify easy. But you really should work on your savings plan.

Thanks, best answer so far

Personalfinance is such an oil and water sub lol

It’s mostly just people trying to figure out why their car/house has make them functionally bankrupt while still Coupon clipping, peppered lightly with people that somehow get themselves a 150k salary gig but can’t perform basic algebra. I’m convinced any “story” post has a 95% chance of being creative writing
