I had a trap catch a mouse on the tail once. I put it in a big plastic container and fed it table scraps. I gave it some waste cardboard stuff like a six pack holder to hide in. One day I came home and the mouse was gone. It must have figured out the jumping puzzle to get on higher and higher cardboard stuff until it could jump out. I never saw a mouse in that apartment again.
