I've been pronouncing hyperbole wrong for decades.

How many arguments have I used that word thinking I was making a good point but actually sounded stupid as frick….

Why didn't somebody tell me sooner.

Pronouncing words like that (ones people rarely use) wrong is just proof that I'm well read :marseyhmmhips:

Isn't it hyper-bo-lee when used as a noun and hyper-bowel(-lic) when used as an adjective?

Like Quixote as in Don vs. quixotic.

I pronounced it as hyper bowl til I was 16 and I blame that on the hyperbolic time chamber being my only spoken exposure to any similar word

People on here are larping with DBZ names but you've never loved DBZ so much that you stayed in an obscenely hot bath until your blood pressure was fricked and then popped the drain and kept laying in there as it drained so your sense of gravity starts feeling out of whack as your body desperately tries to figure out what the frick is going on all so you could pretend to be @VEGETA when he was in the hyperbolic time chamber/gravity chamber

hyper bowl

Lol even I, who as a native French speaker would be naturally inclined to pronounce it that way, knew better. It helps to watch shows with better vocab than DBZ. Ok I mainly learned watching Disney Channel but the point still stands.
