I've been pronouncing hyperbole wrong for decades.

How many arguments have I used that word thinking I was making a good point but actually sounded stupid as frick….

I did this myself with "epitome". The people I was talking with wouldn't have known the difference between an epi-tome and epit-oh-me, so I could show off my smarts/ignorance without losing face.
