I rescued a dog trapped in deep snow this morning and carried him in a harness

Got a call to station around 0630 about a missing golden retriever last spotted on the vale side east of Mt Carrigain about 1400 ft. I guess he wandered off from a camp or cabin of some family and got caught in deep snow. A research scientist called it in when he saw him via binoculars.

He wasnt hard to find after an hour or so via sled and snow shoeing but I got a chance to use the dog rescue harness we were donated by these guys https://mountaindogware.com/dog-carrying-harness-usa.html it was slightly cumbersome with my rucksack but this thing worked out amazing for the .5mile ruck back to my sled. I highly recommend if you go out hiking with your dog that you pack one of these things just in case of injury

Dog's name is Bartlebee and he was unharmed. It's nice to actually deal with a the occasional winter SAR that isn't some idiot millenial instagrammer who goes 4king without water or relies entirely on a phone or gps with dead batteries for navigation.
