Chick Update #2 :marseyhearts: Daily Reminder: THEY LOVE YOU!

I just checked in on the babies. They're quarter-chickens, essentially, their feathers are coming in nicely, toobz! They're very happy but want back outside all the time now. Greedy little hens :marseybow: the poor yellow chick has lost use of one eye unfortunately :marseyscared: but she's a trooper! :marseysoldieramerica:

Yes, and I put a few into a smaller box and bring them inside for my grandmother to enjoy :marseyheart:

Do they need their mom at this point?

Oh no, they become self-sufficient within mere weeks of hatching. And we bought these little girls at a local feed store to boost our hen numbers. They're young teens at this stage. They'll be roaming with the others in about a month, maybe two.

Aw, I'm glad to hear you take loving care of your feather babies. We've raised many chickens, turkeys, and ducks, but have never run into the eye issue. Luckily, we keep the ducks to herd our girls safely from the grazing pasture to get their dinner in their house :marseybow:

We do not know. These are my mom's so I'm only there a few times a week. It well could have been damaged the whole time since they were so tiny :marseycry:

How difficult would it be to get her to wear a badass eye patch?

I can sew, and I have ribbon and lace  my mom was talking about having the vet check her out and we may need to start keeping that area clean. I'll make mini eyepatches for our princess :marseybow:
