I think :marseyoscargamble: I'm addicted :marseyjunkie2: to benzos

What is addiction supposed to feel like? I can't sleep :marseyhatman: without taking like 5 or 6 of them. I feel light-headed and like I'm going :marseysal2: to puke when I'm not on them. Is this addiction? I'm not particularly compelled to take some, but I know they will cure the symptoms.

You better taper off. If you go cold-turkey you will die, neighbor

I was the same way with THC. I got to the point :marseytedsimp3: where :marseydrama: I was waking and baking and taking massive dabs to fall asleep. I quit a few weeks :marseysalitsnowhere: ago and have been having horrible insomnia ever since. The first :marseywinner: three :marseycerebrus: nights I didn't sleep :marseyhatman: at all and only slept on the fourth night :marseysamfisher: because I used alcohol. You are definitely experiencing withdrawals and it will probably be harder for you because benzos come with actual physical withdrawals while THC is mainly psychological.

I would :marseymid: unironically suggest abusing alcohol :marseymodelo2: for the first :marseywinner: 3 days just to get through the initial withdrawals. Then stop abusing alcohol :marseycheers2: right :marseytransmisiaaward: after. That's not enough :marseyitsallsotiresome: time to get addicted :marseyjunkie: to alcohol :marseycheers: and it should :marseynorm: be easier after that. I'm not a doctor :marseyinthehat: though and I make r-slurred decisions with drugs :marseyheroin: so take my advice with a grain of salt.

You ever hear about how bad Heroine withdrawls are? Bad.

Thing is, it's extremely rare to die from opiate withdrawls. Most people feel like they are, but eventually their peepee regains consciousness and they become preachy cute twinks who's identity is still tied around the junk. Days of vomiting and freezing and burning up and shit and ejaculant then they are people again, but lame.

All this to say that Benzos are magnitudes worse. If this is genuine, you need to consult with a psycisian before getting off; there are serious risks of permanent cerebral damage or, God willing, death.

tell your psychiatrist so she can make a plan to taper you down from them. your body had developed a tolerance for the drugs so high that you cannot function normally without them.

The increased GABA inhibition on the neural systems caused by benzodiazepines is counteracted by the body's development of tolerance to the drug's effects; the development of tolerance occurs as a result of neuroadaptations, which result in decreased GABA activity and increased excitability of the glutamate system; these adaptations occur as a result of the body trying to overcome the central nervous system depressant effects of the drug to restore homeostasis. When benzodiazepines are stopped, these neuroadaptations are "unmasked" leading to hyper-excitability of the nervous system and the appearance of withdrawal symptoms.

That's called benzos withdrawal and it will get way worse the longer you use.

You shouldn't be relaying on them to solve your issues. Quit while you are ahead and do oxycodone instead. It solves the same issues and is better for you

>I'm not particularly compelled to take some, but I know they will cure the symptoms.

That's dependence. If you don't taper off and are drug free next month, you know you are addicted.

Because you would instantly do this if you aren't addicted because you are scared to become addicted, because addiction is one of the scariest things that can happen to you.

What is addiction supposed to feel like?

Well

I can't sleep :marseyhatman: without taking like 5 or 6 of them. I feel light-headed and like I'm going :marseysal2: to puke when I'm not on them

Like that. It feels like that.

What did you think it felt like?

You need to either taper or go to rehab because benzo withdrawal can kill you (it's unlikely but it can happen due to seizure and neurotoxicity from glutamate rebound).

I'm not a doctor, but it sounds like your body has a very low baseline benzo level. And prolly this is why you need to take benzos all the time just to match the level of benzo most people have naturally in their bloodstream.

I have the same problem but with paint thinner.
