I haven't drank a soda with sugar in it for 4 years, nor have I drank other beverages with sugar in it.

Sugar free drinks are good, I dunno why fats seethe over them not "hitting the spot". You're fat and your taste buds have been accustomed to 200 grams of sugar in one sitting.

Try no sugar added ketchup too. Tastes way the frick better (tomatoes, salt, vinegar) and the next time you have regular ketchup it'll taste like jelly.
